The Fifth Anniversary of the European Academy in Montepulciano
In June, 2001, after a lengthy period of restoration, the ancient Palazzo Ricci in Montepulciano has opened its doors once again as the European Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, the only German musical institution in Italy. The academy is run by the "Hochschule fur Musik" of Cologne.
Every year since 2001, in this restored historic building, 25 masterclasses have been held, attended by hundreds of music students from all over the world. For the most part the courses of study are financed by independant sponsors as well as the Palazzo Ricci Association. The film was made to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Academy of Music and Dramatic Art of Montepulciano. It is the second film in a trilogy about the Academy.
